Looks like a bunch of Vulkan decoders and filters have been added. Nice!

Summary: The website will relaunch with detailed hardware reviews ad-free.

China already have a rich literary history, why does the west need to give up ours?

Framing this as the West “giving something up” is essentially a dog whistle. I hope that we are all above this.

I'm sure AV1 will have it's time. But for now I'm preferring x265 HEVC for hi-fi video (movies etc.).

I too wish Opus got more love in the video space. Outside of YouTube and VOIP, it doesn't get used.

Shame since Opus is smarter with bitrate allocation with surround sound.

I don't know what model runs on Phind's site right now, but in August Phind published a fine tune of CodeLlama 34B

A few of Phind's models are open/available

I have to thank this post for giving the clearest overview on DragonflyBSD to date.

Linked is the base model. What you want is the instruct model (also on TheBloke's profile), which has been trained on following instructions.

This is frankly the best benchmark you can use on an LLM.

Especially since most devs have a specific use case in mind. Coming up with tests that are tailored to your needs will always be more informative than off the shelf metrics.

You can ask gpt4 or other high value model to rate two chat logs for coherency etc, not as accurate as human evaluation, but you don't have to read thousand lines of text if comparing many models.

This is problematic if you are comparing a model in the same base family as the evaluator, as it will probably favor itself because it literally has the sequences it would naturally emit.
